JUDIT FLÓRA SCHULLER: Mame na Himalaji / Mothers on the Himalayas

Lepo vabljeni na odprtje razstave v petek, 6. junija, ob 19. uri v Likovni salon. / You are invited to the opening of the exhibition on Friday, 6 June, at 7 pm, at Likovni salon Gallery.

Umetniška praksa Judit Schuller je prepletena z njenim življenjem. Obravnava osebne, izrazito intimne, teme in se še posebej posveča procesu spominjanja. Izhaja neposredno iz lastne izkušnje, kakor tudi iz podedovanega zasebnega arhiva, ki ga skrbno razgrajuje in drobi, s čimer poudarja nezmožnost poustvarjanja in razumevanja družinske zgodovine.

Delčke arhiva predstavlja tudi v projektu, zasnovanem posebej za Likovni salon, kjer se izguba preliva v rojstvo. V središču njenega samostojnega projekta z naslovom Mame na Himalaji je izkušnja materinstva. Jedro razstave je pisni razmislek o prehodu v materinstvo in soočenju z življenjem skozi žalovanje.

Judit Schuller’s artistic practice is intertwined with her life. She deals with personal, extremely intimate topics and focuses in particular on the process of remembering. She draws directly from her own experience, as well as from an inherited private archive, which she carefully deconstructs and fragments, thereby highlighting the impossibility of recreating and comprehending family history.

She also presents pieces of the archive in a project specially conceived for the Likovni salon Gallery, where loss flows into birth. The experience of motherhood is at the heart of her solo project, entitled Mothers on the Himalayas. The core of the exhibition is a written reflection on transitioning into motherhood and moving towards life through mourning.
